Morning Rain to which the President Exposed on His Birthday

    It is one of the climatic features in Korea that rain falls little in spring.

    Scores of years ago, one year too, it had little rain till the early in April in overall regions of Korea.

    On April 14 that year, President Kim Il Sung came back late at night to his lodging after taking irrigation measures for the dry field crops being damaged by drought on his way to the field guidance. The President repeatedly opened the window to look out at the sky.

    The night sky was fleeced with dark clouds to threaten to rain. However, it was not raining a drop.

    In the morning on April 15, it began to rain at last.

    Going out to the garden without wearing his coat, the President unfolded his palms to estimate the rainfall. Then he wore a broad smile on his face.

    The President paid no heed to an official who hurried to the President to offer him a coat, but had the pleasure of being left in the rain. 

    In a passionate voice, the official asked the President to mind the rain that morning as it was his birthday. Then the President replied that even though the official stressed today was his birthday, he was more pleasant to be exposed to rain than enjoying the birthday. 

    Such a person was President Kim Il Sung who lives eternally as the father of the people.
